Rice syrup is made from whole grain rice that is grounded and mixed with enzymes that break down the natural starches of the rice and produce sugar. After it is boiled down and filtered, until a stable syrup consistency is obtained.
Rice syrup is often used as a substitute for high fructose sweeteners, due to its free fructose content. It is rich in minerals as magnesium, potassium and iron. It also has a very neutral taste, which enables it to be used in a wide field of products.
